Altos de Chavón
At the foot of the Dominican Republic’s tallest peak, Altos de Chavón is a sixteenth-century Mediterranean village with cobbled streets and coral stone buildings. The village is also home to Catalina Island, a luxurious resort that offers guests an unforgettable experience.
This quaint town has long been famous for its architecture, which was inspired by Mediterranean towns such as Barcelona and Mallorca. It’s no surprise then that the village has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site since 2004.
Catalina Island is just a short drive away from Altos de Chavón and offers visitors a chance to enjoy all kinds of activities like horseback riding, golfing, biking and swimming at one of their three pools or on their private beach with views of Catalina Island.
